How to Identify an Original Casio Watch
1 October 2026

Casio is one of the most copied watch brands in Bangladesh. Copies of the G-SHOCK GA-2100, the Vintage A168 and the classic F-91W are sold everywhere, often for a price only a little below the original. This checklist helps you check any Casio watch in a few minutes — including the ones you buy from us.
1. Check the case back
Turn the watch over. An original Casio has a stainless steel case back with clean, sharp engraving.
- The model number (for example GA-2100 or A168W) and a module number (a 4-digit number such as 5611 or 3298) are engraved or printed clearly.
- Search "Casio [module number] manual" — the official manual must match the watch's functions.
- On copies the engraving is often shallow, blurred or uneven, or the module number does not match the model.
2. Look closely at the printing
Use your phone camera to zoom in on the dial and the case.
- Letters on the dial, bezel and buttons should be sharp and evenly spaced, with no smudges.
- The CASIO logo should be crisp and correctly shaped.
- Colours should be even. Rough paint edges are a warning sign.
3. Test every function
An original works perfectly; copies often fail here.
- Press the light button: it should light evenly. Digital models like the A168 light the whole display.
- Try the alarm, stopwatch and timer. Every mode should match the manual.
- On analog-digital G-SHOCKs, check that the hands move to the correct positions when you change modes.
4. Feel the weight and finish
- Steel watches like EDIFICE and Enticer should feel solid; bracelets should not rattle or have sharp edges.
- G-SHOCK resin should feel smooth and firm, not sticky or plasticky, and the buttons should click cleanly.
5. Check the box, manual and tags
- Original watches come in a Casio box with a manual and usually a price/model tag.
- The model on the box and tag must match the watch.
- Remember, a box alone proves nothing — fake boxes exist too. Always check the watch itself.
6. Be careful with prices that are too good
Original Casio prices in Bangladesh are fairly consistent. If a G-SHOCK GA-2100 is offered far below about ৳15,000, or an A168 far below about ৳4,000, ask why. See our current prices in the shop.
